Education is a top priority in the Dayton Region. With 41 nationally recognized colleges and universities, a wide variety of public and private K-12 schools, and recognized Ohio Blue Ribbon Schools for academic excellence (K-12), it’s easy to see we are preparing talented students for bright futures. There is hardly a field of study, area of research, or collaborative project that isn’t dedicated to enriching our future workforce.

  • The Princeton Reviewlisted Cedarville University, the University of Dayton, and Wright State University among the Best Midwestern Colleges.
  • The University of Dayton and Wright State University were listed in The Best 301 Business Schools, published by Random House and The Princeton Review.
  • The 2009 U.S. News & World Report ranked Cedarville University and Wilmington College as two of the best baccalaureate colleges in the Midwest region.
  • Central State University and Wilberforce University are the only two Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) in the State of Ohio.
  • Sinclair Community College’s Business & Public Service Division received the Association of Collegiate Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP) Award and are among the first in the country to receive this distinction.
  • Central State University, the University of Dayton, and Wright State University are three of ten designated Centers of Excellence selected by the Ohio Board of Regents for their research institutes and programs dedicated to the fields of advanced energy, transportation, agriculture, food production, environmental technologies, bio medicine, and healthcare.
