Dayton Region Again Receives Top Honors for Growth and expansion in 2010.

For the third consecutive year in a row, the Dayton Region has been highly ranked in Site Selection Magazine as top metro for business relocations and corporate expansions. In fact, this year Dayton is the only Midwestern metro to rank in the medium-size metropolitan (population of 200,000-1 Million) category — no other metro in all of the 12 Midwestern states ranked. “The Governor’s Cup Award” is the annual Site Selection award that recognizes the top states in the nation based on new or expanded facilities over the past 12 months. The Dayton Development Coalition, in collaboration with regional partners, has played a fundamental role in relocation and expansion projects such as WilmerHale, ConAgra Foods, Inteva, and GE Aviation. It is because of regional partnerships and collaborations, that the Dayton Region continues to rank in Site Selection Magazine’s Top Metro listing.

H2Open For Business Campaign State Award Winner

The Dayton Development Coalition’s H2OPEN FOR BUSINESS campaign received a state award from the Ohio Economic Development Association.  This top honor was in the “Excellence in Economic Development Marketing,” large category (population 150,000+).  This award recognizes successful marketing campaigns. Launched in April, 2009, the H2OPEN FOR BUSINESS campaign is designed to market the Region’s water resources to site selectors and water intensive industries, targeting industries and businesses across the nation and internationally.  The Ohio Economic Development Association’s annual excellence awards program recognizes the achievements of individuals and organizations in Ohio in the areas of economic and workforce development.
