JobsOhio approved an Ohio Site Inventory Program (OSIP) grant for the construction of a 500,000-square-foot industrial facility by NorthPoint Development at 251 North Dixie Drive in Dayton.

Pella Corporation, a leading window and door designer and manufacturer, announced in July 2020 that it selected Troy, Ohio as the location for a new manufacturing facility. Pella will occupy an existing 324,000 square foot space where it will house the production of vinyl windows and doors. 

As a growing biopharmaceutical company that makes medicines for mental illness and addiction, Alkermes is planning to expand its existing manufacturing facility in Wilmington to meet an increasing demand for its products. The expansion adds more than 90 new jobs to the existing 440-person workforce.

In February 2018, Airstream announced plans for its largest-ever plant expansion. The $40 million project will almost triple production space from 430,000 square feet to 1.05 million square feet and create 300 new jobs. It will allow the company to consolidate multiple production spaces into one facility, bringing the assembly of its travel trailers under one roof. It also will make more room to produce its touring coaches and growing line of other recreational vehicle products.

One of the largest, most recognizable footwear brands in the world, Crocs, Inc., moved a major distribution center from California to western Ohio in order to better serve a growing worldwide customer base.

Henny Penny began construction on the largest expansion project in Henny Penny’s 62-year history in October for a 150,000 square-foot expansion to its Preble County manufacturing facility. The new space will add 70 jobs and house an Innovation Center for new product development, automation and innovation and expand the company’s manufacturing footprint.

The company’s expansion initiative would open new opportunities for a variety of high-skilled jobs in the Dayton Region including software developers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, composite engineers, chemists, and manufacturing personnel.

Expansion to Bring 70 New Jobs and $15 Million Investment

TOKYO – During Governor Mike DeWine’s business development mission to Japan, Eaton-based Neaton Auto Products Manufacturing, Inc., announced its plans to add 70 new jobs and invest approximately $15 million in its Dayton Region operations to meet increased customer demand.

In October 2018, Crown Equipment Corporation announced plans for a new expansion. The $130 million expansion project will create 563 new jobs at multiple locations in the Dayton Region. Their expanded Ohio footprint will give the company additional assembly and manufacturing capacity, as well as expanded logistics capabilities, to fulfill the growing global demand for their product. 

Chewy announced in October 2018 its plans to build a fulfillment center near the Dayton International Airport, which will employ 600 new workers.
