Community Details
The Village of Covington has not ever had adequate park or open space. The only park available to the public is located within a floodplain and is not walkable or bike friendly. Schoolhouse Park will serve as the first new park within the community in over 100 years and will have amenities that will serve all residents of the Village including a splashpad, amphitheater, playground, pump track, pavilions, trailhead, and open space for events. The parks location, within the heart of Covington, is walkable to over 80% of the Village residents. This park will serve as the event center of the Village as well, with a programming schedule to utilize the amphitheater, pep rallies for the school, movie nights for kids, and regional event opportunities.
Schoolhouse Park will also be an economic boon for the Village, as new investment and development in the park will spur additional improvement to residential and commercial development in the Village.
