Community Details

40. Community Need Our community continues to need the development of job opportunities that can provide a good standard of living. Our community also needs to have reliable access to goods and services it needs, especially in times of emergency such as tornados or pandemics. The Dod needs reliable access to high quality, critical parts to develop and maintain the systems that assure the communities safety and security at home and abroad. Developing a trusted, flexible, and distributed manufacturing capability built around additive manufacturing of critical parts can positively impact all of these needs. The research and development enabled by this Congressional funding would allow us to prove this approach can work and be scaled significantly and quickly, creating a large number of jobs and economic development in the process.
